Beth Goudie & Sam Goudie - 2019
It’s been almost ten years now,
but I held on, I held on.
For all this time I have believed,
that is was me, that it was me.
I thought that I’d get lost somehow,
if you were gone, if you were gone.
It’s taken all this time to see,
I could be free, I could be free.
And so, I’m driving up this old familiar road
You know, this funeral was meant for long ago
Oh, I’m scattering these ashes
over green and charcoal hills and fields of gold.
It’s the day I’m letting go
It’s been twenty years or so,
time moves slow, time moves slow.
But I am more than where I’ve been,
there’s life between, there’s live between.
And so, I’m driving up this old familiar road
You know, this funeral was meant for long ago
Oh, I’m scattering these ashes
over green and charcoal hills and fields of gold
It’s the day I’m letting go
And so, I’m driving up this old familiar road
You know, this funeral was meant for long ago
Oh, I’m scattering these ashes
over green and charcoal hills and fields of gold.
It’s the day I’m letting go
